Wipro and Oracle Join to Make Integrated Lifecycle Management Solution

Earlier this week, Wipro Technologies, the Internet Technology division of Wipro, announced that it will join Oracle to create a product life cycle management solution. This joint development project is for the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) Industry.

The goal of the product lifecycle management solution is to make management processes easier for the Consumer Packaged Goods industry as well as to allow customers have increased visability on compliance issues. Also, customers will be able to access the market faster and easier. The upcoming solution is being made using many of Oracle’s existing solutions. The Oracle Application Integration Architecture solution, the Oracle Agile Product Life Cycle Management Solution and the Oracle Process Manufacturing and Oracle Product Hub are being used to develop the product.

The Vice President of Consumer Packaged Goods Industry Vertical Wipro Technologies, Somjit Amrit, commented. He said, “Wipro is excited to work with Oracle to develop this PIP to provide an Integrated Product Record from supplier to finished product. This will help remove the traditional gaps and silos that cause risks and delay during most product introductions. It will also help ensure that the entire business process is supported with the accurate and timely information which is critical to maintain traceability and achieve compliance. We understand the complexities that CPG companies face today as regulations and customers demand more of them. This solution will help enable CPG companies to be more innovative and launch new products faster and with significantly lower risk.”

Wipro has a lot to offer to this joint development project. It will offer CPG domain expertise. It will also offer development skills and accelerators. Wipro and Oracle want the final product to be easy to operate, deploy, configure, maintain and upgrade. The business process solution will be economical and give CPG companies the best product for their money.

Oracle is also looking forward to working with Wipro. Bernard Goor, the Vice President of Consumer Goods at Oracle, commented.
