Redwood Shores, Calif. (August 05, 2009) –

Compiere, Inc., the global leader in open source and Cloud-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions, today announced that Executive Vice President & CIO, Sunny Hemant Gosain, will be speaking at CloudWorld(TM) 2009. The conference is scheduled for August 12-13, 2009 at Moscone Center West in San Francisco, and will be co-located with Open Source World(TM) and Next Generation Data Center(TM). Gosain’s session, “SaaS 2.0: Cloud Computing’s Impact on the Traditional SaaS Development Model,” will be held at 2 pm PDT on Thursday, August 13.

Gosain will discuss how companies can deploy their own private instances of enterprise applications on the cloud and control specific customizations and upgrades to new versions, eliminating the constraint of traditional on-demand multi-tenant alternatives. “As more end-users are considering hosted versions of enterprise applications, it has become increasingly imperative to reduce the barrier of entry into such technology,” said Gosain. “By focusing on modern cloud service technology, enterprise application developers can expand upon the benefits of Software-as-a-Service. This enables them to more easily deliver the convenience of utility computing with lower traditional IT overhead and fewer complexities than on-premise applications, resulting in a significantly lower total cost of ownership.”

CloudWorld aims to bring together buyers and sellers of Web-centric software, infrastructure and services designed to drive acceptance and deployment of cloud computing in the data center. The conference will provide a comprehensive look at Cloud computing, a technology that is changing today’s data center and becoming increasingly relevant because it offers significant cost savings benefits, scalability and agile functionality.

This year, Compiere became the first open source provider to offer an enterprise-class ERP solution available on Amazon’s Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), enabling organizations of all sizes to leverage the company’s comprehensive ERP solution with the scalability, flexibility and significant cost advantages of Cloud computing.
