COMPIERE SURPASSES KEY MILESTONE WITH 1.2 MILLION DOWNLOADS

Demand for Open Source ERP and CRM Solutions Drives Growth and Market Leadership

Santa Clara, California (March 26, 2007) – Compiere, Inc., the leading provider of open source business applications, announced today it has reached more than 1.2 million downloads since inception in June 2001. Compiere also holds the number one position for total downloads across the 1,098 projects listed in the enterprise category on the open source development portal SourceForge.net.

Compiere’s success demonstrates the vibrancy of open source technology for solving the enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM) needs of small- to medium-sized businesses up to expansive global corporations. Downloads have translated into implementations across industries spanning wholesale distribution, retail, logistics, manufacturing and professional services. Compiere users comprise organizations with extensive needs for managing global businesses, including complex organizational structures and multi-currency requirements. Working with Compiere, executive management and IT departments have realized the maximum advantage of ERP software at the lowest total cost of ownership.

“Compiere has clearly impacted the evolving landscape of ERP by providing reliable and adaptable business solutions through a unique open source delivery model, freeing customers from vendor lock-in and reducing the risk and challenges of ERP implementations,” said Don Klaiss, president and CEO of Compiere. “Achieving this milestone is a testament to the collaborative effort between Compiere’s founders and the growing community of customers, developers and partners.”

The impact of the open source movement is reflected in a July 2006 IDC report titled “Open Source in Global Software: Market Impact, Disruption, and Business Models” in which a survey of more than 5,000 developers in 116 countries found that developers worldwide are increasing their use of open source. Survey respondents cited that open source software is being used by 71 percent of developers in the world and is in production at 54 percent of the respondents’ organizations. The study asserts open source software as the most significant long-term trend within the software industry in the past two decades.

Coralie Girardet, vice president of sales and marketing for Compiere partner Audaxis, stated, “Our relationship with Compiere dates back to 2002 when Audaxis became one of its first business partners in Belgium, France and Luxembourg. Audaxis recognized early on that Compiere’s functionality, flexibility and open source licensing changes the economics of enterprise applications for customers and integrators alike. As Compiere surpasses the 1.2 million download milestone, Audaxis continues to expand the range of services it provides to customers.”
