PCB Manufacturing Leader on Track to Improve Pre-Production Engineering Processes and Ultimately Increase Customer Satisfaction

The successful implementation is part of the company’s strategy for continuous improvement and increasing customer satisfaction in pre-production engineering.

AT&S, Europe’s No. 1 PCB manufacturer, began its search for an intelligent pre-production engineering system in 2007. * Advanced stack-up capabilities that incorporate rules-based copper plating calculations and customer requirements for complex HDI products.
* Checking the PCB data to manufacturing capabilities and customer specifications.
* Smooth integration of CAM, SAP and impedance systems for seamless transfer of data in engineering.

Engenix will also be used for customer communication and bill of material (BOM) management.

Led by product manager Iain Wilson, the Consona implementation team satisfactorily met all of AT&S’s demands by working closely with product process engineering department at AT&S China, a wholly owned subsidiary of AT&S. With the Engenix system in place, AT&S hopes to more effectively improve the efficiency of its engineering departments. They estimate Engenix will decrease engineering time for products with complex impedance calculation by 30 percent. Further, they expect it will help avoid manual operation errors, reduce complex paper-based reports, and improve customer satisfaction by providing a fast and precise response.
