Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise Human Capital Management Provides Solution for Staples

Two years ago, Staples upgraded to PeopleSoft Enterprise Human Capital Management 9.0, a business solution by Oracle. This is part of a long-term goal by the office supply company to better utilize and manage employees. The technology has enabled Staples to more effectively manage staff and individual performance.

The full update to PeopleSoft Enterprise Human Capital Management 9.0 took 10 months. In addition to this HCM software, Staples is also running PeopleSoft Enterprise Time and Labor, to reduce payroll costs through automated time logging and pay rate calculations, and PeopleSoft Enterprise ePerformance, an online staff performance management application that enables managers and employees to collaborate on performance evaluations.
Oracle’s human capital management suite was selected among other competitor’s products for its reporting functionality that allows for a clean overview of employee work schedules. It ensures that government policies and customer demands can be met.
Staples can observe all vital statistics to optimize work and cut down on costs. ePerformance has also allowed for performance observation, improvement, and reward.

Staples was also selected to use Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise Early Success Program (ESP) through the upgrade process. PeopleSoft Enterprise ESP gives customers additional resources to aid in installation and setup. Oracle offered Staples a direct line to a customer support manager and focused, exclusive attention to every upgrade development.

Says Bob Solomon, Staples Director of HR Systems: “Upgrading to PeopleSoft Enterprise Human Capital Management 9.0 was key in helping us strategically address important operational business objectives. Our upgrade was completed on time and on budget, enabling us to quickly begin gaining benefits from the integrated talent management and end-to-end workforce management system. As we continue to take our workforce management transformation to the next level, we’ll be closer to ultimately enhancing the overall shopping experience for customers in our stores.”
