Plex Systems, Inc. Named to JMP Securities’ Hot 100 List: Best Privately Held Software Companies

Report Recognizes Growth, Industry Leadership

Auburn Hills, Mich. (May 19, 2009) –

Plex Systems, Inc., providers of Plex Online software for the manufacturing enterprise, today announced its inclusion in JMP Securities’ 2009 report, “Hot 100: The Best Privately Held Software Companies.” The report profiles 100 of the leading private companies in the software industry, as identified by the software research team at investment banking and asset management firm JMP Securities.

This is the second time Plex Systems has been cited on the prestigious list. JMP Securities selected Plex Systems as one of the Hot 100 private software companies based on analysis by their research in the software segment. They identified companies that are involved in key trends, such as Software as a Service (SaaS); companies experiencing solid growth; and innovative product development.

This recognition comes on the heels of record revenue growth and customer acquisitions for Plex Systems. The company’s 2008 annual revenue grew 33 percent as compared to 2007, and Q1 2009 saw an additional increase of 25 percent over first quarter 2008 – despite the economic downturn in the manufacturing industry, the company’s core market.

“We’re proving that the software as a service model can energize even moribund industries,” said Mark Symonds, Plex Systems president and CEO. “Most people mistakenly assume there is no growth in manufacturing software, that manufacturers will be the last to embrace new technologies and delivery methods. They are dead wrong. JMP’s researchers recognize that Plex Online stands alone in the manufacturing marketplace, with our growth driven by the combination of a powerful feature set for manufacturers, the software as a service (SaaS) delivery model, and cost-effective subscription pricing.”
