Everything Cloud: All Consona Products Now Available on SaaS Model

When it comes to cloud-based ERP offerings, we’re used to hearing about how NetSuite generally excels while SAP is playing the catch-up game. Which makes it a bit strange that Consona only recently announced that their entire business-software suite (from ERP to CRM) would be available on a cloud-based service model, and never got any real flack for it. The new cloud ERP deployment will be available on what has been dubbed the “Consona Cloud,” which was spawned by the company’s partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS).

We know the benefits of cloud ERP by now—faster, cheaper implementations, reduced hardware expenses, the ability to get more ROI from legacy platforms—and the Consona Cloud will also include infrastructure and application services. One of Consona’s primary objectives here is to allow customers the ability to choose the deployment method, and they’re also giving customers the ability to choose between three licensing options: perpetual, subscription, and consumption.

Whether customers will be wholly swayed simply by having the ability to choose is uncertain, but in the marketing of this new environment Consona is right to identify the security AWS offers. Security is one of the chief concerns when it comes to moving enterprise data to public clouds, and while the number of cloud-related breaches doesn’t quite condign such concern, Consona is wise to tout cloud safety.
